I did start the prayer chain twice today.  Early this morning for the family of Ron Slane.  Ron passed away from cancer.  He is the cousin of Bekki Smith.  Later this morning I started the prayer chain for Wyatt Snider, who is the grandson of Carolyn & Jack Snider.  He has a throat injury and was taken to Rileys in Indianapolis.  Please pray for Wyatt is only 15 months old.  Yesterday I began the prayer chain for Ron Inboden.  He was diagnosed this week with colon cancer and his family is in need of prayer.    Please pray for all of these folks.

Revelation 21:4

Last Saturday evening we held our first hopefully annual Mother/Father Banquet.  The Hide Out catered the event with Fried Chicken, Ham, potatoes, 7layer salad, green beans, corn, rolls and Strawberry dessert.  Pastor Howard led the triva program for the women and Nora Leggitt was the hostess for "Who’s Your Daddy" for the men.  Four of our EUM women won prizes for the evening.  Sandy Potter won a gift card to Kohl’s, Phyllis won a gift card for Backporch, Pam Henry won a gift card for Kohl’s and Linda Harris won one for Monical’s.  (I hope I have that straight!, I ma have Linda & Phyllis mixed up!)  Jerry Potts, Mike Bailey, Orren Leggitt & Gary Weger won the prizes for the men.  Each one received a gift card for gas at Caseys!!  Gary Weger said it might fill up their lawn mower!! ha ha  Over all it was a terrific program and evening.  I am already looking forward to next year.

EUM Family,

Is it only Thursday?  I think I have said that about everyday this week.  The good news is that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and next week will be easier.  So since I am in between grading final study guides and 8th grade graduation, I thought I would send you a little note.

Speaking of graduation…we do have some EUM youth graduating from 8th grade & High School.  Tonight is the 8th grade graduation at OES beginning at 8:00pm.  Our EUM youth will be graduating from High School tomorrow evening at 8:00pm at OHS.  So come out and support our youth.

Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Speaking of the Future, Graduation for the Oblong students is coming up.  On Thursday next week, we will have 8th Graduation at 8:00pm in the OES gym.  Then on Friday evening, the High School students will be graduating at the OHS gym at 8:00pm.  I won’t try to list our youth that will be graduating because I will miss one but come out to support them anyway.

Don’t forget about the Mother/Father Banquet on Saturday evening at 6:00pm.  I am so excited about this joint banquet AND the fact that it will be catered.  The Hide Out will be catering event with Fried Chicken, Ham, potatoes, 7layer salad and dessert.  There may be more to the menu, that is just what I can remember.  Mom is in charge of the food and I know it will turn out great.  We will have a program for the Men and Women following the meal upstairs in the sanctuary.  There will be great prizes as well.

EUM Family,

HELLO EUM!!  Did you think that I had forgotten about you this week?  I suppose that some of you may think that is a blessing.  Well, I haven’t forgotten you, I have just been busier than you can imagine this week and have been batteling a sore throat too.  I am feeling better and have a few minutes before my next event and wanted to drop you all a line.

Friday evening there will be a concert at Highland Avenue Baptist church in Robinson.  The Angela Lily trio will be there along with a group called Declaration.  Angela Lily is from the area and has a great sound along with her family and the group Declaration has been traveling with the famous Booth Brothers.  Now if you haven’t heard of them, call Phyllis, the Booth Brothers are one of her favorite groups.  I actually heard Declaration on the radio yesterday and I know you will be quite impressed with their sound.  So if you are free go on over and support these ministries at 7:00pm tomorrow evening.
